Associate Legal Counsel
About the job
*Associate Legal Counsel. Corporate M&A Focus. Abu Dhabi. 6-12 month assignment*
The investment arm of a local entity is looking to add to its legal team based in Abu Dhabi, for a 6-12 month assignment.
Candidates will be qualified lawyers with upwards of 2 years post qualified experience, focusing on Corporate M&A matters. It is likely that lawyers will have gained their experience in notable international law firms, or reputable in house-legal teams and have excellent English language skills. Arabic language skills would be good to have but not essential. Experience of working in the UAE would be advantageous.
The successful individual can expect to gain good exposure to high quality work, and work within a small legal team.
Responsibilities will include reviewing and analysing standard legal documents, contracts and agreements; ensuring compliance of all legal advice with latest regulations and statutory needs; contributing to the development of standard investment legal templates; drafting standard investment legal documents; and understanding related obligations, debts, shareholder structures, warranties and long term customer agreements relating to all new investment prospects.

We are working with a rapidly scaling business with a global footprint across Europe, the Middle East and Africa that specialises in supply-chain management including logistics, freight-forwarding, transportation, trade finance and security services. Our client does a significant amount of work into sub-Saharan Africa but also act on other matters such as providing a tech software platform for supply-chain components.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an international team in Dubai where you will be working across different verticals of the business and reporting directly to the Group General Counsel in a position of authority. It is essential that applicants have a strong background in trade finance in areas including letters of credit, uncommitted facilities, risk participation agreements, indemnities, trade payables and trade advance facilities. Exposure to commodity finance would also be highly regarded. Day to-day responsibilities include contract reviews, structuring and negotiation especially with third parties amongst other commercial/regulatory matters.
Candidates should ideally have a minimum of 4 years of legal experience working for leading international law firms and in-house functions. The successful candidates will likely be qualified in England & Wales or another common law jurisdiction such as Australia, Canada or New Zealand. Although not essential, spoken/written fluency in French would be appreciated.

تتطلع الذراع الاستثمارية للكيان المحلي إلى إضافة أعضاء إلى فريقها القانوني المتمركز في أبو ظبي، لمدة تتراوح بين 6 إلى 12 شهرًا.
