Autonomous Robots System Engineer

Role Overview:
As an Autonomous Robots System Engineer, you will be a pivotal member of the control team. You will collaborate with researchers and engineers to design, develop, and integrate robotic control, planning, and decision-making algorithms for ground, aerial, marine, and manipulator robots. Your primary focus will be system-level software development, enhancing and integrating components of the autonomy stack, such as state estimation, low-level control, trajectory following, and trajectory generation, while coordinating closely with the perception pipeline.

Responsibilities:

• Co-develop, enhance, and integrate control, planning, and decision-making sub-systems for fully autonomous platforms.

• Optimize algorithmic and system performance to achieve high Technology Readiness Level (TRL) for prototype deployment.

• Test algorithms in real-world experiments, analyze collected data, and refine performance.

• Write modular, efficient, and maintainable code; review code from colleagues.

• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team including control, decision making, integration, perception, and platform teams.

Skills and Experience:

• Strong passion for robotics, programming, mathematics, control, and motion planning.

• Good understanding of sensors, actuators, and robotic autonomy algorithms.

• Experience in control, path/motion planning, state estimation, or numerical optimization.

• Hands-on experience with real robotic platforms and sensors.

• Proficiency in CMake, C/C++, Python2/Python3, and Rust.

• Familiarity with SW engineering best practices: Git, CI/CD, SW testing, Docker, Agile methodologies, Jira/GitHub management.

• Experience with ROS/ROS2 (ros_control, robot_localization, navigation stack).

• Knowledge of communication protocols: MAVLINK, MAVROS, UDP, UART, USB, I2C, Bluetooth, Wifi, RF, CAN.

• Applied experience with Pixhawk flight controllers, PX4/Ardupilot firmware, Mission Planner, or similar.

• Experience with simulation tools: Gazebo, Ignition, AirSim, Webots, MuJoCo, Unreal Engine, Unity.

• Excellent written and spoken English skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team, managing multiple projects.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with OMPL, CasADi, PCL, Octomap, OpenCV, PyTorch, Caffe/Caffe2, TensorFlow, Keras, Scikit-Learn, PlotJuggler.

Qualifications:
