Lab Technician (Q.C Lab)

About the job

Job Overview:

We are seeking a precise and methodical Lab Technician. You will be responsible for conducting standardized laboratory tests on raw materials and finished Aluminum Composite Panels to ensure they meet global construction standards (ASTM, EN, ISO).

Key Responsibilities:

• Destructive Testing: Perform Peel Strength tests to measure the bond between the aluminum skin and the core.

• Fire Performance Testing: Conduct small-scale flammability tests.

• Coating Analysis: Use laboratory instruments to test:

  • Gloss & Color: Verification of Lab* values and reflection levels.

  • Chemical Resistance: Performing MEK rub tests.

  • Flexibility: T-bend and Impact tests to ensure no coating failure during fabrication.

  • Accelerated Weathering: Oversee salt spray, humidity, and UV weathering chambers to simulate long-term outdoor exposure.

• Raw Material Validation: Analyze incoming Polyethylene (PE) granules for density, Moisture Content, and Melt Flow Index (MFI).

Line Q.C (ACP)

Key Responsibilities:

• Sampling: Collect and inspect panel samples to check for surface defects, color deviation, or core impurities.

• Dimensional Accuracy: Use calipers and measuring tapes to verify:

  • Panel Thickness: Ensuring it stays within tolerance.

  • Squareness & Diagonal: Checking that panels are cut perfectly square to prevent installation issues.

  • Sheet Flatness: Identifying bowing immediately.

• Lamination Monitoring: Constantly check the bond between the aluminum skin and the core.

• Protective Film Application: Ensure the easy-peel protective film is applied without wrinkles and that the directional arrows are printed correctly.

• Core Quality Check: Monitor the extruder to ensure the core material is melting uniformly and is free of recycled contaminants.

• Real-Time Reporting: Log all production data, including line speed and temperature settings, and flag any "Non-Conforming Material" (NCM) for immediate segregation.

Paint Technician

About the job:

We are looking for a skilled Paint Technician to manage our paint preparation and application systems on the coil coating line. You will be the technical expert responsible for color matching, viscosity control, and the chemical stability of our coating systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Paint Preparation & Blending: Accurately mix resins, pigments, and solvents according to the formulation (recipe) to achieve the desired color and performance specs.

• Viscosity Control: Monitor and adjust the viscosity of the paint during the run to ensure uniform application and flow-out, compensating for changes in ambient temperature.

• Color Matching (The "Eye"): Perform manual and digital color adjustments. You must be able to "tint" a batch to bring it within the Delta E tolerance if the shade drifts.

• Coater Head Setup: Assist the line operators in setting up the roll coater (pickup roll, applicator roll, and doctor blade) to achieve the target Dry Film Thickness (DFT).

• Wet & Dry Film Thickness (DFT) Verification: Monitor the paint application in real-time. Perform "Wet Film" checks during the run and use electromagnetic gauges to verify "Dry Film" thickness after curing.

• Curing & PMT Oversight: Regularly verify the Peak Metal Temperature (PMT) of the ovens to ensure the paint is neither under-cured (soft) nor over-cured (brittle/discolored).

• Chemical Adhesion Testing: Perform on-the-line physical tests on samples, including:

  • MEK Rub Test: Checking the solvent resistance to confirm the coating is fully polymerized.

  • T-Bend Test: Ensuring the coating can withstand bending without cracking or losing adhesion.
