Senior Archaeologist
Department: Archaeology Department
Section: Surveys and Excavations
Reports To: Director of Archaeology Department, Department of Antiquities and Museums, Ras Al Khaimah
Employment Type: Full-time
Role Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Archaeologist to plan and execute archaeological excavations, investigations, and projects. The role involves research, documentation, and preservation of the cultural heritage of Ras Al Khaimah using advanced techniques in alignment with international best practices and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Fieldwork and Excavations:
-
Plan and conduct archaeological surveys and excavations under the direction of the Department of Antiquities and Museums
-
Carry out emergency rescue excavations throughout the year
-
Use appropriate tools and techniques to excavate archaeological sites, ensuring preservation and documentation of artifacts and findings
-
Manage and organize field data and prepare post-excavation archives as appropriate
-
Utilize photogrammetry for detailed documentation and implement a single-context documentation system
-
Collaborate with other archaeologists, conservators, and specialists to document and preserve findings and contribute to research
Communications Manager
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
-
Over 5 years of experience in communications with proven hands-on creative skills
-
Strong portfolio of self-produced content (social media campaigns, videos, graphic design, photography, and written work)
-
Experience in cultural event/festival marketing is a strong advantage
Skills & Competencies:
-
Proficiency in creative software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, video editing) and digital platforms (Google Analytics, Meta Suite, SEO/SEM, CRM/automation tools such as HubSpot or Mailchimp)

Strong expertise in digital marketing strategy and digital platforms

Excellent writing and storytelling skills in English (Arabic is an asset)

Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on production

Creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Skills & Competencies:

هدف الوظيفة:
الانضمام إلى فريق متخصص لتنفيذ وتنظيم التنقيبات والمسوحات الأثرية، والمشاركة في البحوث للحفاظ على التراث الثقافي لرأس الخيمة. يشمل الدور توثيق وتحليل نتائج التنقيبات وفق أفضل الممارسات والمعايير الدولية.
المسؤوليات الرئيسية:

تخطيط وإجراء المسوحات والتنقيبات الأثرية بتوجيه من دائرة الآثار والمتاحف.

تنفيذ عمليات إنقاذ طارئة للتنقيبات على مدار السنة.

استخدام الأدوات والتقنيات المناسبة للحفر وضمان الحفاظ على الآثار وتوثيقها.
-
إدارة وتنظيم بيانات التنقيبات الميدانية وإعداد أرشيف ما بعد التنقيب.

استخدام الفوتوجرامتري وأنظمة توثيق السياقات الفردية لتوثيق التنقيبات بدقة.

التعاون مع علماء آثار، وحافظي آثار، ومتخصصين لتوثيق النتائج والمساهمة في البحوث.
مدير اتصالات (Communications Manager)
المؤهلات والخبرة:

درجة البكالوريوس في التسويق، الاتصالات، الإعلام أو مجال ذي صلة (الماجستير مفضل).

خبرة أكثر من 5 سنوات في مجال الاتصالات مع مهارات إبداعية مثبتة.
-
محفظة أعمال قوية تشمل محتوى إنتاج ذاتي (حملات وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، فيديوهات، تصميم جرافيكي، تصوير، وكتابة).

خبرة في التسويق للمهرجانات والفعاليات الثقافية ميزة إضافية.
المهارات والكفاءات:

إجادة برامج التصميم الإبداعي (Adobe Creative Suite، Canva، تحرير الفيديو).
