Senior Accountant Fixed Assets

Role Summary

Responsible for managing financial activities related to fixed assets and project management modules. This includes coordinating and executing month-end accounting processes, ensuring timely capitalization of all fixed assets and projects, maintaining a comprehensive audit trail, and upholding robust controls in compliance with Abu Dhabi Airports’ reporting standards and procedural guidelines.

Major Areas of Responsibility

Support in managing fixed assets and project management modules by overseeing asset recording, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring proper accounting treatment in coordination with line managers and project managers.
Perform month-end and year-end closing activities and ensure timely capitalization of assets and projects.
Review and analyze monthly journals and ledger accounts to ensure correct posting in general ledgers and facilitate sub-ledger reconciliations.
Reconcile general ledger accounts with respective accounts in the PPE module to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Ensure accounting of all fixed assets aligns with IFRS standards and Abu Dhabi Airports’ accounting policies.
Oversee the full lifecycle of fixed assets, including additions, transfers, depreciation, impairment, and disposals.
Maintain a database of financial records, including journals, ledgers, and supporting documentation for accurate and timely reporting.
Review and analyze the impact of accounting entries on financial statements and highlight variances.
Process adjusting journal entries as required and ensure general ledger integrity.
Establish and maintain a filing system for general ledger and capital projects documentation.
Perform ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Line Manager.

Qualifications & Skills

Strong accounting knowledge, especially in fixed assets and project management modules
Experience with month-end and year-end closing processes
Familiarity with IFRS standards and accounting policies
Attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to maintain accurate financial records
Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools
