Job Overview
As an Occupational Therapist at ABLE UK, you will play a critical role in supporting children and young adults with special needs, particularly those diagnosed with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, and learning disabilities. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide individualized therapy plans that improve clients’ functional skills, enabling them to participate more fully in daily activities and reach their developmental milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate clients’ abilities in areas such as sensory processing, fine motor skills, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on client assessments and specific needs.
- Implement therapeutic interventions, including sensory integration, motor skills development, and self-care routines.
- Collaborate with speech and language therapists, ABA therapists, and other professionals to create holistic care plans.
- Monitor progress and adapt therapy strategies to ensure continued improvement.
- Provide training and guidance to caregivers and families on how to support clients’ therapy goals at home.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and therapy sessions.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the overall development of the therapy program.
- Offer community workshops and training to raise awareness about occupational therapy’s role in child development.
- Stay updated on the latest research and techniques in occupational therapy and apply evidence-based practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Valid DHA (Dubai Health Authority) license or eligibility.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with children, preferably in a setting focused on special needs or autism.
- Strong understanding of sensory integration, fine motor skills, and pediatric development.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and handle diverse caseloads.
- Passion for helping children achieve their developmental goals and improving their quality of life.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in oral placement therapy (OPT) and knowledge of how it complements speech therapy.
- Previous experience working in the GCC region or familiarity with cultural sensitivities in this area.
- Knowledge of ABA therapy principles and how they intersect with occupational therapy.

- خبرة لا تقل عن عامين في العمل مع الأطفال، ويفضل في بيئة تركز على الاحتياجات الخاصة أو التوحد.
- فهم قوي لدمج الحواس، المهارات الحركية الدقيقة، وتطور الأطفال.
- مهارات تواصل ممتازة وقدرة على التواصل بفاعلية مع الأطفال والعائلات وفريق متعدد التخصصات.
