About the job

The selected candidate will be responsible for driving the business with the use of data and relevant analytical techniques to identify gaps, design solutions & deliver opportunities where advanced analytics can reduce cost, increase service efficiency or drive revenue.



Job Outline:


Lead


Work closely with different business areas of the business to prioritise business information needs and data analysis requirements to measure and define key performance measures that drive actionable change.

Identify new process improvement opportunities that are in line with business strategy and drive change management.

Drive initiatives within the Business to ensure the quality of data available to aid timely and accurate analysis and interpretation of different strategic priorities for the business, such that the business is constantly on the upward trend.

Work with Group IT, central Business Intelligence teams and relevant key stakeholders to ensure a foundation of insightful data that supports departmental and or internal/external customer requirements.

Research best practices and keep abreast of tools, frameworks and mechanisms for data analytics to ensure the business is on the right path to using data strategically and smartly.

Provide support and guidance to the Data Analysts within the operational teams. Work with them to ensure best approach is adopted, standardised reporting and learning needs are met.

Manage regular reporting to lead department trading updates versus KPI?s and provide updates to key stakeholders on Airline commercial deal performance and optimisation of negotiated fares.

Execute


Provide exploratory analysis using different techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining to discover patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies and predict future business outcomes and trends to support business improvement and decision.

Assist with the in-depth analysis of historical data through predictive/projection modelling for co-relations during the business planning process to optimise opportunities for cost reduction or increase in revenues.

Responsible to transform data into action-oriented information through predictive or prescriptive analytic capabilities to enable the business understand potentially complex challenges and support senior management to take proactive evidence based business decisions, to achieve required improvements.

Work closely with project management team to execute data analytics related projects within assigned budget and timelines.


Qualifications & Experience


Bachelor's degree in any field, preferred areas: Operational Research, Statistics, Data Science or similar numerical with preferably a post-graduate qualification.

Minimum of 5 years' experience, preferably 6-8 years of experience in a data supported organisation.

Experience within the airline, airport or travel sectors in a data analysis role.

English Level 6

IT and Computer Literacy

Advanced Excel

Management Skills

Safety Awareness

Demonstrable logical, creative and analytical thinking skills.

Knowledge in using databases such as SQL Server & Oracle, with the ability to create complex SQL and understanding of general database management concepts.





Manager Gold Medal - UAE (dnata Travel) :

About the job

dnata Travel have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven Manager Gold Medal to join the team based in Dubai.



The Job holder will be responsible to manage and further develop the dnata network worldwide to enhance growth, profitability and market share, as well as consolidate the dnata Travel Management brand across the Middle East & West Africa / North Africa (MEWA / NA) regions. Responsibilities include developing and implementing strategic partnerships, defining the sales and business development strategy and plan, and developing the regional marketing strategy for the B2B Consolidation business covering the Trade, OTA, Tour Operators, and Global Consolidators requiring access to relevant local and regional content, liaising with internal specialist departments as appropriate (e.g. CCMB).


Responsibilities:



Plan


- Develop and implement specific business sales strategies and related policies (3-5 year timescales) for Gold Medal to ensure maximum profitability across the individual lines of businesses and the regional partners in MEWA/NA.


- Monitor the changing market situations, and continuously adapt the business strategy to meet market conditions and challenges of the future. Track competitor activity and recommend changes in processes, systems and strategy for business growth, to address these needs.


- Lead and engage in independent research of client / prospect information, travel market trends, source client key contact information and support the sales strategies of the individual businesses and to secure accounts that span across the region as per Gold Medal partner's prospects data base.



Deploy


- Manage the regional partnership through the appointment of new partners under the umbrella of the Gold Medal brand with a particular focus on managing the relationships with the senior management of these partners.


- Monitor compliance with partner and client contracts, identify any potential areas of concern and recommend appropriate actions.


- Plan and launch a series of above and below the line marketing campaigns to emphasise on the positioning of Gold Medal and develop the brand recognition strategy, as an upcoming travel management network within the MEWA / NA region.


- Lead the research, qualifying, pursuing and winning of new business and provide support to ensure successful proposal bids are managed effectively.


- Engage effectively with Manager Contact Centre to ensure effective implementation and service delivery to Gold Medal new and existing clients, in line with overall departmental objectives.


- Continuously seek improvements in business processes, systems and technology to ensure that business targets are achieved in the most efficient manner.


- Maintain effective working relationships with internal departments and ensure through Service Level Agreements that departmental needs are effectively met.


- Maintain a good working relationship at the very highest level with Gold Medal partners across the region, including card payment solution partners, managing credit to clients and ensuring that new credit applications are handled in a quick and effective manner.


Lead


- Lead a team of regional sales task force members that are focussed on achieving the desired sales objectives of Gold Medal i n all business areas and in support of the dnata regional businesses.


- Lead the Business Development Team, fostering a team-based culture, ensuring positive interactions with other teams within the dnata Travel division.


- As a member of the dnata Travel management team, champion a culture of open communication, clear direction, accountability, collaboration and performance management to deliver against the one dnata vision, mission and values.


- Set and monitor performance objectives and development plans for direct reports which are aligned with the department strategic plan, identify improvement areas requiring formal intervention and training both on an individual and department basis.



Execute


- Be accountable for business development activities related to B2B Consolidation (trade, OTA, Tour Operators, and Global Consolidators) at the CEO and Managing Director level to ensure the provision of specialised and professional services are positioned and the sale for the same is closed to deliver profitable revenue streams for the Company.


- Evaluate and recommend ways for clients to manage their travel spend and assist with the introduction of the necessary policies, technology solutions and key supplier partnerships all leading to better management of their travel spend and more cost savings.


- Manage and contribute to the overall annual budget for Gold Medal with respect to sales, manpower and overall costs.


- Responsible for consolidation of multinational accounts for the dnata regional offices and partners across the MEWA / NA region for Gold Medal.


- Achieve revenue targets and profitability, effectively managing the budgeting and utilisation of overhead expenses, and manpower resources.


- Manage and monitor the analysis of business transacted and reporting functions to ensure results are effectively tracked, and proactive action is taken to respond to varying market requirements.


- Represent dnata Travel management at various regional conferences, sales meetings and work with regional partner to ensure potential corporate travel related business is consolidated to maximise benefit for the region and dnata Travel Group.


- Identify new business opportunities and ensure the successful achievement of the overall business objectives relating to sales, new products, marketing objectives and promote the image of the Gold Medal brand.



Qualifications:


- Undergraduate/Bachelor degree (12+3)



Experience:


- Commercial/Sales experience


- 10+ years of work experience in a sales or business development role in the travel sector (ideally Corporate), including at least 5 years of experience managing and leading a team.


- Experience working with/in MEWA/NA region for a multinational organisation.


Knowledge/Skills:


- Deep knowledge of the corporate travel sector including consumer behaviour, competitor activity, and a broad network of corporate travel industry contacts.


- Advanced, applied knowledge of CRM tools.


- Systematic and logical approach to solving problems.


- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (additional languages will be a distinct advantage).


- Advanced negotiation skills and demonstrate ability to influence senior level stakeholders internal and external to the organisation.
