Cardiac Electrophysiologist
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia, and bradyarrhythmias
- Perform electrophysiology (EP) studies to assess electrical conduction abnormalities
- Conduct catheter ablation procedures (e.g., radiofrequency and cryoablation)
- Implant and manage cardiac devices including pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices
- Interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs), Holter monitors, event monitors, and other cardiac diagnostic tests
- Provide pre- and post-procedure care, including follow-up management
- Collaborate with general cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, hospitalists, and primary care physicians
- Participate in on-call coverage for cardiac emergencies
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research when applicable
