Patient Access Ambassador - OP
About the Job
Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Ambassador to serve as the primary point of contact for patients and healthcare providers. The role ensures seamless scheduling, admissions, and overall patient flow coordination while working closely with clinical and support teams to deliver an exceptional patient experience and maintain operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient registration in HIMS and collect co-pays/deductibles.
- Coordinate with RCM to verify insurance and obtain authorizations.
- Process outpatient appointments, inpatient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ADT data.
- Coordinate patient schedules, room allocations, transfers, and porter services.
- Liaise with housekeeping, dietary, translators, and other support services.
- Monitor unit supplies and assist with operational reports (LOS, Bed Management, JAWDA KPI, Patient Satisfaction).
- Escalate complaints appropriately and work on a shift basis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in customer service, healthcare administration, or patient relations.
- Experience in a Radiology Department is an advantage.
- Strong multitasking and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Bilingual preferred.

Key Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of clinical information systems implementation, including requirements review, testing, and go-live support.
- Provide first-line support to HIS users, troubleshoot system issues, and coordinate resolutions with vendor support teams.
- Analyze clinical workflows and assist in translating business requirements into system solutions.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned HIS modules.
- Develop user training materials, conduct end-user training, and competency assessments.
- Support system enhancements, change requests, and integration activities.
- Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports and statistical data for management.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings, help desk coverage, and on-call schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a clinical specialty or Computer Science.
- UAEN with Family Book.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a super user in a reputable Health Information System.
- Experience in at least three modules such as Order Entry, Clinical Documentation, Pharmacy, ICU, Patient Access, RIS, LIS, or Patient Billing.
- Experience in a large healthcare facility.
- Strong communication, analytical, presentation, and teamwork skills.
- MBA or PMP certification is an advantage.
