Senior Control Room Coordinator – Power Plant 1 & 2, DUBAL

If you are an experienced professional in power plant operations, passionate about safety, efficiency, and leadership, this is your chance to manage critical systems, mentor teams, and ensure seamless electricity, steam, and compressed air supply for one of the UAE’s largest industrial sites.

Details:
This is a fixed-term contract (Nov 2025 – Sep 2027) for a Senior Control Room Coordinator reporting to the Shift Charge Engineer/Shift Manager. You will oversee operations in Power Plant 1 or 2, coordinate shift staff, and ensure continuous and safe operation of DUBAL’s electrical, steam, and compressed air systems for internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Boilers, and Potline Rectifiers.

• Continuous monitoring of SCADA and PMS (XA-21) systems, including repeated breakdowns, fault levels, and power flows (132kV, 33kV, 11kV).

• Prepare and maintain generation reports, load records, fuel consumption data, and performance evaluations.

• Perform routine tests, efficiency checks, chemical and water washing of gas turbine compressors.

• Ensure proper operation of control systems such as GE Speedtronic Mark-5/2, ABB Procontrol, EGRATROL, Alstom ALSPA P-320, PLC/HMI systems, and analyzers for industrial water treatment.

• Carry out remote high voltage switching as authorised and monitor DEWA-DUBAL power flows.

• Supervise daily operations, liaising with Shift Manager, Operators, DEWA, DUSUP, DUGAS, and other stakeholders.

• Ensure maximum steam production for desalination plants and continuous compressed air generation.

• Train and supervise Control Room Operators and Field Operators on safe and effective operations.

• Ensure compliance with EHS policies and ISO14001, maintaining safe emissions and mechanical operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.

• 10+ years of power station operational experience, including 5 years in senior supervisory roles with authorization for high voltage switchgear operations.

• Proven expertise in power generation and distribution, gas and steam turbine operation, and high voltage remote switching.

• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Computer literate and skilled in operational data management.
