Research Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled researcher for a project on standardizing aquaponics production of rice and wheat using tilapia fish in a commercial-level aquaponics system adapted to the UAE climate. The selected applicant will work as a Research Assistant at the Department of Integrative Agriculture, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (CAVM), UAE University.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in aquaponics and hydroponics, crop science, and environmental management, with a focus on optimizing production in arid regions. Responsibilities include designing and implementing experiments, analyzing data and reporting/presenting, developing standardized protocols, and collaborating with local stakeholders to ensure the system’s commercial viability. Strong problem-solving skills, familiarity with sustainable agriculture practices, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team are essential for this position.

Undergraduate degree in horticulture, plant science, or a related field.

Job Description

Provide individual therapy services.
Provide group therapy services.
Design individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs.
Conduct case studies for students referred from university departments and colleges.
Provide recommendations for cases referred from university housing to assist housing management in decision-making regarding these students.
Coordinate and communicate with other health experts, such as psychiatrists and relevant administrative units responsible for protecting individuals from violence and harm, to ensure comprehensive therapeutic services for students.
Organize and deliver workshops, lectures, and scientific conferences related to mental health topics for the UAE University community in collaboration with internal and external entities.
Develop special programs for new students in university housing to prepare and support them.
Prepare and implement operational plans for counseling and quality of life services and continuously work on their development.
Participate in continuous professional education to ensure high-quality services.
