History of Al Ain University

The intention behind establishing Al Ain University came in response to guidance from His Highness the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, the 1st President of the UAE. This was in regard to nurturing the people of the UAE on foundations of knowledge and science, and to contribute to the development of the UAE, as well as respond to the challenges precipitated by the twenty-first century evolution of technology and mass media.

Great consideration was also taken in regards to the Federal Law No (4) of 1992 establishing the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and in relation to the rules and regulations of licensing higher educational institutions, as well as to the MOHESR's "Standards for Licensure and Accreditation” 2003.

Upon the completion of all studies conducted for the purpose of establishing this educational monument with a vision of its own, a constructive philosophy and a creative mission had developed. Al Ain University was established in 2004 with full commitment to the rules and regulations issued by the MOHESR.

Overview

Established in 2004, Al Ain University (AAU) opened the doors to its first student cohort in 2005. Constantly innovating, AAU expanded its facilities by opening a second campus in Abu Dhabi in 2008, offering programs in Business and Law. Having begun with three colleges (Engineering, Business, Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences), the University has continued to expand its program offerings which now include 22 undergraduate programs across six colleges (Engineering, Pharmacy, Law, Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Business and Communication and Media), 8 Master’s programs, and 1 Professional Diploma in Teaching program.

AAU is licensed to operate under the auspices of the UAE Ministry of Education (MoE). AAU continues to successfully seek international accreditation of its programs by respected educational bodies. The College of Engineering programs ("B.Sc. in Networks & Communication Engineering", "B.Sc in Computer Engineering" and "B.Sc. in Software Engineering") are accredited by (ABET). The "Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy" program has the distinction of being the first in UAE to be certified by (ACPE). Moreover, the "Bachelor of Law" has been accredited by (HCERES), the College of Education, Humanities & Social Sciences has granted the CAEP Accreditation to two academic programs: Postgraduate Professional Diploma in Teaching and Bachelor of Education in Special Education, the College of Business accredited by the (AACSB), and the "Bachelor of Mass Communication and Media" program has been accredited by (AQAS), respectively.

تاريخ جامعة العين

وجاء الهدف من إنشاء جامعة العين استجابة لتوجيهات صاحب السمو الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان، الرئيس الأول لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة. وذلك في إطار تنشئة شعب الإمارات على أسس المعرفة والعلم، والمساهمة في تنمية الدولة، فضلاً عن الاستجابة للتحديات التي عجل بها تطور التكنولوجيا ووسائل الإعلام في القرن الحادي والعشرين.

كما تم الاهتمام بالقانون الاتحادي رقم (4) لسنة 1992 بإنشاء وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي، وفي ما يتعلق بقواعد وأنظمة ترخيص مؤسسات التعليم العالي، وكذلك "معايير الترخيص" الصادرة عن وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي. والاعتماد" 2003.

وبعد الانتهاء من كافة الدراسات التي أجريت بهدف إنشاء هذا الصرح التربوي برؤية خاصة به، تطورت فلسفة بناءة ورسالة إبداعية. تأسست جامعة العين عام 2004 مع الالتزام الكامل بالقواعد واللوائح الصادرة عن وزارة التعليم العالي.

ملخص

تأسست جامعة العين في عام 2004، وفتحت الأبواب أمام أول فوج طلابي في عام 2005. ومع استمرارها في الابتكار، قامت جامعة العين بتوسيع مرافقها من خلال افتتاح حرم جامعي ثانٍ في أبوظبي في عام 2008، حيث تقدم برامج في الأعمال والقانون. بعد أن بدأت بثلاث كليات (الهندسة، والأعمال التجارية، والتعليم، والعلوم الإنسانية، والعلوم الاجتماعية)، واصلت الجامعة توسيع عروض برامجها التي تشمل الآن 22 برنامجًا جامعيًا عبر ست كليات (الهندسة، والصيدلة، والقانون، والتعليم، والعلوم الإنسانية، والاجتماعية). العلوم والأعمال والاتصالات والإعلام)، 8 برامج ماجستير، وبرنامج الدبلوم المهني في التدريس.

جامعة العين مرخصة للعمل تحت رعاية وزارة التربية والتعليم في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة. تواصل جامعة العين سعيها بنجاح للحصول على الاعتماد الدولي لبرامجها من قبل الهيئات التعليمية المرموقة. برامج كلية الهندسة ("بكالوريوس في هندسة الشبكات والاتصالات"، "بكالوريوس في هندسة الكمبيوتر"، "بكالوريوس في هندسة البرمجيات") معتمدة من قبل (ABET). يتميز برنامج "بكالوريوس العلوم في الصيدلة" بكونه الأول في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة الذي يحصل على اعتماد (ACPE). علاوة على ذلك، فقد تم اعتماد "بكالوريوس القانون" من قبل (HCERES)، ومنحت كلية التربية والعلوم الإنسانية والاجتماعية اعتماد CAEP لبرنامجين أكاديميين: الدبلوم المهني للدراسات العليا في التدريس وبكالوريوس التربية في التربية الخاصة بالكلية. وقد حصل برنامج "بكالوريوس الاتصال الجماهيري والإعلام" على اعتماد (AQAS) على التوالي.
