Design Engineer - Substation
About the job
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing design briefs, schematics, project documents and perform all required engineering calculations.
- Supervising, mentoring and training junior designers and CAD operators(i.e. in interpreting Codes and Regulations, design, and other tasks as required).
- Preparation of over all Equipment layout in line with Specification and other dept requirements.
- Tender Offer evaluation of all equipment inline with Specification and authority requirements.
- Tender drawing preparations and understanding the tender requirement in coordination with the Estimation team.
- Review, submission, coordination with supplier and client for the Approval of design documents (Secondary/Protection/SCADA/Telecom, Cable works).
- Coordination with inter discipline engineers for finalization of Signals as per Scheme and station requirements.
- Preparation of LV Power Cable, control cables, FO communication cables termination schedule for MV and HV substations.
- Attending regular meetings with client / consultants for clarification of technical queries raised by client / consultant.
- Battery and Charger Sizing Calculation for 110V DC and 48V DC.
- Inverter sizing calculation.
- Review of 220kV, 132kV, 33kV, 11 kV Switchgears and protection schemes.
- Design of 400V LVAC Switchboard, MDB, SMDB, etc.
- Load calculation and accordingly select the MCB / MCCB rating.
Coordination with Drafting Team for the following:
- Preparation of Schematics as per Scope of work requirement complying with project specifications and international standards.
- Preparation/Review of As Built as per RMD and final submission for approval.
- Preparation of Main GIS Single Line Diagram (SLD).
- Preparation of Single Line Diagram (220kV, 132kV, 33kV, 11kV, 415V, 110VDC, 48V DC).
- Preparation/Review of Protection Logic diagrams.
- Lighting Design Calculation for entire substation using Relux/Dialux software.
- Earthing Design Calculation for entire substation using CymeGrid/ETAP software.
- Design Calculation for Lightning Protection using IEC Risk Assessment Calculator.
- Cable ampacity, induced voltage calculations.
- Preparation of cable route drawings.
- Preparation of control cable termination schedule.
- CT & VT Sizing calculation, cable sizing calculations .
- Calculation of Fault currents at various levels in a substation.
- Overcurrent and Earth fault Relay protection coordination setting calculation for entire substation using ETAP.
- Prepare the design output for various equipment like Protection relays, Auxiliary relays,cables, light fittings, distribution boards and quantifying material requirement of the project as per client requirement.
- Preparing comment response sheet for Client comments on documents.
- Preparation/review of Method of Statements and submission for approval.
- Tender/Site Visits and Tender Clarifications:
- Tender/Site visit and gather as much information as possible.
- Prepare tender visit report and raise pretender clarifications if any.
- Responding to post tender technical clarification from Client.
- Provide tender clarifications to tender team.
- Tender technical document review/preparation and support to tender department.

مهندس تصميم - محطة فرعية
عن العمل
المهام الأساسية:
- إعداد ملخصات التصميم والخطط ووثائق المشروع وإجراء جميع الحسابات الهندسية المطلوبة.
- الإشراف والتوجيه وتدريب المصممين المبتدئين ومشغلي CAD (أي في تفسير القوانين واللوائح والتصميم والمهام الأخرى كما هو مطلوب).
- إعداد جميع تخطيطات المعدات بما يتماشى مع المواصفات ومتطلبات القسم الأخرى.
- تقييم عرض العطاء لجميع المعدات المتوافقة مع المواصفات ومتطلبات السلطة.
- الاستعدادات لرسم العطاء وفهم متطلبات العطاء بالتنسيق مع فريق التقدير.
- المراجعة والتقديم والتنسيق مع المورد والعميل للموافقة على وثائق التصميم (الثانوية/الحماية/SCADA/الاتصالات، أعمال الكابلات).
- التنسيق مع المهندسين متعددي التخصصات لوضع اللمسات الأخيرة على الإشارات وفقًا لمتطلبات المخطط والمحطة.
- إعداد كابلات الطاقة ذات الجهد المنخفض، وكابلات التحكم، وجدول إنهاء كابلات الاتصالات FO للمحطات الفرعية ذات الجهد المتوسط والعالي.
- حضور اجتماعات منتظمة مع العميل / الاستشاريين لتوضيح الاستفسارات الفنية التي يطرحها العميل / الاستشاري.
- حساب حجم البطارية والشاحن لجهد 110 فولت تيار مستمر و48 فولت تيار مستمر.
- حساب حجم العاكس.
- مراجعة المفاتيح الكهربائية 220 كيلو فولت، 132 كيلو فولت، 33 كيلو فولت، 11 كيلو فولت وأنظمة الحماية.
- تصميم لوحة مفاتيح 400V LVAC، MDB، SMDB، إلخ.
- حساب الحمل وبالتالي تحديد تصنيف MCB / MCCB.
التنسيق مع فريق الصياغة لما يلي:
- إعداد المخططات حسب متطلبات نطاق العمل بما يتوافق مع مواصفات المشروع والمعايير الدولية.
- إعداد/مراجعة ما تم بناؤه وفقًا لـ RMD والتقديم النهائي للموافقة عليه.
- إعداد مخطط الخط المفرد لنظم المعلومات الجغرافية (SLD).
- إعداد مخطط الخط الواحد (220 كيلو فولت، 132 كيلو فولت، 33 كيلو فولت، 11 كيلو فولت، 415 فولت، 110 فولت تيار مستمر، 48 فولت تيار مستمر).
- إعداد/مراجعة المخططات المنطقية للحماية.
- حساب تصميم الإضاءة للمحطة الفرعية بأكملها باستخدام برنامج Relux/Dialux.
- حساب تصميم التأريض للمحطة الفرعية بأكملها باستخدام برنامج CymeGrid/ETAP.
- حساب التصميم للحماية من الصواعق باستخدام حاسبة تقييم المخاطر الصادرة عن اللجنة الكهروتقنية الدولية (IEC).
- سعة الكابل، حسابات الجهد المستحث.

- إعداد تقرير زيارة العطاء ورفع إيضاحات المطالب إن وجدت.
- الرد على التوضيح الفني بعد العطاء من العميل.
- تقديم توضيحات العطاء لفريق العطاء.
- مراجعة / إعداد المستندات الفنية للعطاء ودعم قسم العطاءات.
