NDT Technician - Trainee (UAE National)

Purpose of Role

Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques on components, pipework, and structural assemblies to ensure compliance with applicable specifications and acceptance criteria.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties (Post NDT Training)

• Undertake Visual Testing (VT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Eddy Current Testing (ET)

• Ensure safe work area for NDT activities

• Perform risk assessments as required

• Conduct inspections within applicable specification parameters

• Perform routine equipment and consumable checks and report issues

• Evaluate test results according to applicable specifications

• Produce clear, concise reports detailing inspection methods and findings

• Complete work efficiently and meet deadlines, adapting to changing priorities

• Follow Oceaneering and client procedures, statutory requirements, and specifications

• Execute other reasonable duties as required by management

• Comply with Oceaneering Health, Safety, Security, Environmental, and Quality Systems (HSSEQ)

Non-Essential Duties

• Undertake additional tasks reasonably expected within the scope of the role

• Assist with specific projects as directed by management

• Full understanding and adherence to Oceaneering and Client Safety Policies and Procedures to maintain a safe and compliant working environment

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This role has no direct supervisory responsibilities

Qualifications and Training

• NDT training according to SNT-TC-1A during secondment, with advancement to SNT Level II upon satisfactory experience

• Training and competency in VT, UT, MT, PT, RT, ET

• IRATA Rope Access Level 1 Training (site-specific)

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

• Desired: Valid UAE Driving License

• This role is specifically for UAE Nationals with a Family Book

Skills and Attributes

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

• Flexible and collaborative approach with team-oriented mindset

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Working Conditions

• Onshore role: outdoors and indoors, day/night, near moving and vibrating equipment, high humidity, intense light, exposure to dust, fumes, gases, and elevated surfaces

• Physical activity: lifting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, repetitive movements, wearing PPE, moderate work level
