Job Title: Accountant

Department: Finance & Accounts

Reporting To: Finance Manager / CEO

Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accountant to manage both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, while ensuring full compliance with VAT regulations. The role involves handling day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting month-end and year-end financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP):

• Verify supplier invoices, delivery notes, and purchase orders for accuracy and completeness.

• Process supplier payments in accordance with agreed terms.

• Monitor due dates and prepare payment schedules.

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or disputes.

• Maintain up-to-date records of all payables.

Accounts Receivable (AR):

• Generate and issue invoices to clients based on services/products delivered.

• Monitor customer account balances and follow up on overdue payments.

• Prepare aging reports and escalate problematic accounts.

• Apply incoming payments to customer accounts in the system accurately.

• Handle credit notes, refunds, and customer queries related to billing.

VAT Compliance:

• Ensure all sales and purchase invoices are VAT-compliant.

• Prepare input and output VAT summaries monthly.

• Maintain documentation to support VAT returns.

• File accurate VAT returns in line with FTA requirements and deadlines.

• Stay updated with VAT laws and implement necessary adjustments.

Other Duties:

• Assist with bank reconciliations and general ledger postings.

• Support internal and external audit processes.

• Contribute to monthly and annual financial closing procedures.

• Prepare reports for management as required.

• Maintain proper digital and physical filing of all financial documents.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in AP, AR, and VAT functions.

• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations.

• Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Odoo, QuickBooks, Zoho, SAP).

• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and time management.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Fluent in English.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience in technical or construction industry.

• Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems.

• إعداد ملخصات ضريبة القيمة المضافة الداخلة والخارجة شهريًا.

• الحفاظ على الوثائق الداعمة لإقرارات ضريبة القيمة المضافة.

• تقديم إقرارات ضريبة القيمة المضافة بدقة وفقًا لمتطلبات الهيئة الاتحادية للضرائب والمواعيد النهائية.

• متابعة تحديثات قوانين ضريبة القيمة المضافة وتنفيذ التعديلات اللازمة.

مهام أخرى:

• المساعدة في تسويات البنوك وترحيل القيود المحاسبية.

Key Responsibilities
