Ajman Academy is seeking an exceptional, experienced, and inspirational School Counselor (Arabic-English bilingual)
Key Responsibilities:
Identification, Screening, and Support Plans
Conduct regular classroom and playground observations
Maintain visibility across the school
Produce timely, well-documented observation and assessment reports with clear recommendations
Collaborate with teachers and Inclusion Department to develop Behavior Improvement Plans (BIPs) and appropriate interventions
Planning, Preparation, and Phase Support
Develop behavior support plans and contribute to the school-wide counselling action plan
Plan and deliver parent workshops & staff CPD
Lead interventions and promote awareness of social and emotional topics such as bullying, resilience, and emotional regulation
Participate in implementing the MOE Behavior Policy and contribute to behavior management committees and strategy
Communication & Record Keeping
Provide referrals to and maintain communication with external support services and agencies as appropriate
Engage in feedback loops with teachers and collect progress reports
Inform students and parents of individual targets and regularly seek feedback from both
Maintain up-to-date case files in accordance with departmental standards, including records of communication and progress tracking
Monitor and track the progress of students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs
Progress Monitoring
Demonstrate a measurable positive impact of counselling sessions on students within the caseload
Continuously evaluate student progress against BIP targets, using the BIP as a living, working document
Provide constructive, timely feedback to students
Child Protection and Support
Ensure student safety and well-being are maintained in accordance with the school’s Child Protection Policy
Raise staff awareness of the CP Policy within their respective phases
Maintain secure and confidential records of all safeguarding cases and take necessary action to protect students from harm
Qualifications & Requirements:
Degree in Psychology
Diploma in Education
Minimum 3 years relevant experience in schools
Excellent communication & organizational skills
Arabic bilingual is a must
