Senior Surveyor

UTEC is currently seeking to hire a Senior Surveyor on a full-time, permanent basis for their Offshore team in Abu Dhabi. The Senior Surveyor is UTEC's senior representative on a watch, reporting to the Party Chief or a senior representative on the vessel, and must ensure that all work is conducted in the best interests of UTEC and the Client. The Senior Surveyor must have a thorough understanding of work specifications, project requirements, and client objectives. They are responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely execution of the project, as well as overseeing Quality Assurance. Additionally, the role involves ensuring that all activities are carried out in a manner that prioritizes safety and meets the client's needs.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Supervise survey operations ensuring safe working practices at all times and with due regard to contractual requirements, scope of work, procedures, and regulations
- Manage mobilisation and demobilisation activities with regard to safety of personnel and assets
- Ensure all systems are functioning in compliance with contractual requirements, project procedures, and company procedures to effectively conduct the scope of work
- Ensure collection, collation, QC, and distribution of all survey data relating to the scope of work as per project procedures and company procedures
- Advise onshore management, company, and client representatives when deviation from the approved procedure is necessary and record through the Management of Change Procedure
- Compile operational / field reporting in a concise manner and in accordance with project procedures, client specifications, and company procedures
- Complete final reporting and data transfer / backup in accordance with project procedures, client specifications, and company procedures
- Effectively communicate with client representatives and company representatives onshore
- Ensure all personnel in the offshore team understand their roles and responsibilities
- Conduct personnel performance reviews/appraisals for your direct reports and provide specific performance data/feedback to supervisors of non-direct reports assigned to your projects
- Perform other duties or tasks as assigned
Requirements
- More than 5 years of Offshore Survey experience handling any of the following types of work: Construction Support, Pipelay, IRM, Geophysical Survey, or Wind Farm
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Geodetics, or Geomatics
- Familiarity with NaviPac Online Software is an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Senior Survey Engineer

UTEC is currently seeking to hire a Senior Survey Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis for their Offshore team in Singapore. The Senior Survey Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all engineering work carried out on site is conducted in the best interests of UTEC and the Client, meeting all project safety, contractual, and quality requirements. The Senior Survey Engineer shall also ensure that all equipment received on the vessel is configured correctly, and calibrations and certifications are kept up to date.Duties/Responsibilities
- Experience of all types of Survey sensors used across different job operations
- Ability to understand sensor pinout/wiring diagrams, how to interface equipment and sensors through survey vehicles into the online system
- Understanding of basic electronics, demonstrate understanding of commonly used electronic symbols and wiring principles
- Knowledge and understanding of IT and general networking solutions, and how to set up a dedicated survey network and interface survey sensors to online systems
- Good knowledge of different data protocols used with survey sensors, such as serial 232, 422, 485 protocols, Ethernet comms, and fibre optics
- Experience of CCTV and video systems, setting up video distribution on board vessels
- Ability to problem-solve and fault-find issues with equipment, demonstrating good problem-solving practices and logical thinking
- Ability to make up and terminate all types of cabling for interfacing, antenna cabling, network cabling, serial cabling, video cabling, ROV/survey sensor cabling
- Ability to create vessel wiring diagrams and setup notes in relevant software packages
- Maintain, service, and calibrate equipment used in offshore survey operations
- Keep vessel inventories, manifests, and equipment certification up to date
- Knowledge of data storage systems
- Knowledge of online software packages, interfacing survey sensors to online systems, and testing
- Ability to perform online operations and operate software during operations
- Conduct personnel performance reviews/appraisals for direct reports
- Perform other duties or tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Education in Electronics/Electrical/Mechatronics is desired
- More than 5 years of relevant industry experience in the offshore survey as Senior Survey Engineer
- Technical understanding and knowledge of major survey equipment and software used in the offshore survey sector
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work in a team environment
- Able to work online back-to-back with that Surveyor if required
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19, having received both initial jabs and booster shots
