General Operative

Location: Ollerton
Murphy has an opportunity for a general operative to join our business onsite at our Ollerton Plant Depot.
What We Are Looking For
- Good understanding of health and safety on construction sites
- CSCS card desirable but not essential
- Happy to be given instructions and a willingness to work well as part of a team
- Be self-motivated
- Work safely and stick to company policies
- Work to and can meet strict deadlines
- Happy to use own initiative
- Basic IT knowledge to be able to log all work through company handset
- Willingness to help out when required with other operatives
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced department
What Will You Be Doing
- Main responsibilities will be cleaning of cabins that have come back from site, including but not limited to: toilets, furniture, stores, plasterboard, floors, worktops, sinks, etc.
- Able to move furniture from the stores into the cabins as per site requirements
- General tidying of workshop areas and yard

What You Will Be Doing
- Being a key contact for customers submitting completion data, reviewing the data submitted, and issuing completion certificates confirming adoption of the network
- Informing customers when they can raise invoices for completed connections and processing the invoice upon receipt
- Maintaining information systems and trackers for recording completion data
- Seeking to understand business needs and demonstrating innovative ways to continuously improve
- Promptly resolving customer inquiries and coordinating resolutions with input across different teams
- Ensuring our administrative processes are effective and efficient, enabling us to provide high-quality levels of service to all our clients and partners at all times
- Managing site inspection and auditing records and operation and maintenance records

Who We Are Looking For
- Experience in a Utility coordinator role in the construction or utilities industry would be advantageous but not essential

- Demonstrable knowledge of Excel and the ability to enter, manipulate, and analyse data
- Experience in an IDNO or IGT, or relevant equivalent experience within the Utility sector, would be advantageous
- High level of attention to detail and the ability to self-manage your workload

Who We Are Looking For
- Experience in the plant hire or accommodation sector
- In Date CSCS Red Card or higher
- Proven experience in project management, particularly in accommodation or construction-related fields
- Experience in managing subcontractors and ensuring project delivery
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly in installation and demobilisation of Accommodation
- Proficiency in 2D CAD software for designing and planning
- Knowledge of lift management and relevant certifications (CPCS Appointed Person, Blue Card, etc.)
- Lift Supervisor Qualification
- Knowledge of codes and site regulations
- Flexibility to travel to various UK sites
